The finished product creates an even finished surface leaving no drips or application traces.
At Apex Wheels we don’t just powder coat alloys wheels. We also have the facilities to powder coat various different fabrication items such as gates, fencing, components, bike frames, motorbike frames etc. Get in touch with our team if you’re interested in powder coating your alloy wheel or any other material.
We also cater to the trade taking on large volumes of items at a discounted rate with a collection and drop off service for our trade customers depending location and volume.
Alloy Wheel Powder Coating Process
Step 1. The item is submerged to remove all un wanted deposits (if the item has previously been painted we use chemicals before shot blasting to bring the item back to its raw cast)
Step 2. The item is then pre treated
Step 3. The item then goes through a de-gassing process to remove air pockets in the casting allowing a smooth finish when coated.
Step 4. Once the item has been heated to the required temperature it is coated with a powder primer before being cured.
Step 5. The item is inspected before the colour is applied and cured.
Step 6. Finally a coat of lacquer is applied and cured.
Step 7. The item is then cooled and packaged ready for collection or return.
