Alloy Wheel Diamond Cutting Process
STEP 1. Wheel/s are loosened and removed from the vehicle. Tyres are then carefully removed using our highly sophisticated tyre equipment.
STEP 2. Weights, centre caps and valves are removed and the wheels are then placed into a chemical solution to remove any accumulated deposits and old paint. The wheel is then rinsed of any chemical and put through our low pressure shot blasting process to create the best possible surface ready for refurbishment.
STEP 3. The wheel is placed on a conveyor system that passes through an oven to remove any trapped air before moving into the spray booth for a coating of powder coating primer. It then passes back into the oven to be cured. The wheel is then left to cool to a temperature suitable for painting.
STEP 4. Once the wheel has completed the painting process it is then placed into the lathe, where it is probed from the edge to the centre precisely following the structure of the wheel.
STEP 5. The probe of the wheel is then checked smoothing out any imperfections.
STEP 6. The face of the wheel is cut gradually taking a fine layer off of the surface each pass until the process is complete.
STEP 7. The Alloy Wheels are lacquered with special diamond cut crystal clear lacquer to protect the wheels against everyday wear and tear.
STEP 8. Each wheel is carefully inspected to ensure that the finish is near enough if not the same to the original factory finish. We do not allow any wheels to leave our unit until they have passed quality control and we feel they are of a high standard and ready to be returned to the customer. Tyres are then re fitted to the wheels with new valves and balanced before being safely fitted and torqued to the customer vehicle
